about

Indie rock inspired by Twilight Sad and Frightened Rabbit. I used a faux Scottish accent because it felt more fitting to the music, but my accent's a little... off. Sorry. Also, it's a very rough demo because of a bad recording set-up (and 5AM work) so don't expect anything super good. Mainly it's for me to get an idea down.

Also, I used FL Studio drum samples with an added Audacity reverb/echo effect, which turned out nice, I think. So it's the full band deal here.

lyrics

you coulda been happier if you took my words to heart
but you never listen to me, no you never listen to me
and now you're stuck
in this little rut o' yours with no one left to turn to
what a shame
so will you listen to me? will you open your ears?

topple down the stairs, bloody mess and all
can't say i didn't tell you so
damaged goods you are; damaged goods you'll be
the rest of the world will walk on by

canvas blank again, oil paints dried up
sunlight streaming down through the window upon a broken scene
hair tangled and tussled and tossed about like nobody cares
what a shame

spoken for again by a man who doesn't love you
no, he'll never love you
we are gathered here today to celebrate the union
(of directionless haphazard and) reckless abandon
spoken for again by a man who will never love you
at least not as much as me

not as much as me

you coulda been happier if you took my words to heart
but you never listen to me, no you never listen to me
